Shawn Archambault, President

Shawn has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  Shawn formed FluidEdge Consulting in 2007 to bring to the market his expertise as an advisor to executive teams of large and mid-size Health Plans and Providers.  His focus is on improving their underlying economics through both strategic and operational improvements.  His work is concentrated in the areas of: strategic planning, vendor selections, implementation and/or upgrades of case management, provider data management and core claims administration systems.

Prior to founding FluidEdge Consulting, Shawn worked for Independence Blue Cross (IBC) in Philadelphia PA where he held several positions including Corporate Project Executive, Senior Director of Managed Care Systems, Senior Director of Technology Services and Vice President of Provider Services - Strategy and Operations.  Within these positions, Shawn oversaw budgets from 10 - 50 million dollars and 90 - 200 employees. 

During his tenure, Shawn was responsible for the conversion of all of IBC’s core processing systems into a common systems platform.  Additionally, Shawn was responsible for all care management and provider systems, and in his role as Senior Director of Technology Shawn was responsible for all technology and infrastructure including security, database management, networking, and technical facilities.  Finally, as the Vice President of Provider Operations, Strategy and Service/Support Shawn was responsible for all internal provider operations and external provider support for the entire provider network.  Additionally, Shawn was responsible for strategy development and process optimization within the Provider organization. 

Before joining IBC, Shawn spent 6 years at First Consulting Group (FCG) a national healthcare IT and management consulting firm.  Shawn was a senior manager in the payer practice and spent the majority of his time working with both health plan and health delivery clients developing strategic IT/Business plans, selecting and procuring systems vendors, negotiating vendor contracts, and overseeing systems implementations. 

Shawn started his career in healthcare management at Johns Hopkins Medical Services Corporation in Baltimore in both the business offices as well as on the implementation of their practice management and managed care systems. 

Shawn holds his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore County and his Masters of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
