Steve Weiss, Executive Consultant

Steve has over 30 years of experience working with businesses in all phases of the Information Technology continuum, including 16 years in healthcare, 9 years in environmental services, 6 years in banking, and multiple years in other industries. As CIO, Steve has been a member of the senior executive teams of Fortune 500 companies and has played an integral part in developing both the business strategy and technology solutions in support of that strategy. He has successfully managed the development of enterprise-class software solutions, the selection of third-party services and solutions where appropriate, and negotiated enterprise-level third party contracts. Immediately prior to joining FluidEdge Consulting, Steve was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a care management solutions provider focused on the commercial payer, Medicare and Medicaid markets. Prior to that, Steve was Vice President and CIO for United HealthCare’s Specialized Services (SCS), a $ 9B division of United Health Group. Steve was responsible for all IT activities related to the fourteen businesses that made up SCS, including Optum, United Behavioral Health, and others. During his tenure, Steve was responsible for the replacement of the core processing systems, care management platforms, and data warehouse solutions for many of the SCS companies. Before joining United HealthCare, Steve was Vice President and CIO for Waste Management, the world’s largest environmental services company. Steve has been an advisor to several start-ups, and currently is working with a health care start up as technical and product advisor.
