
Randa (“Randi”) has over 25 years’ experience within the healthcare industry, specializing in regulatory compliance, electronic medical information, healthcare administration and project management. As Director of Healthcare Consulting at FluidEdge, Randi provides her subject matter expertise in regulatory compliance and healthcare information systems, specializing in EHR Meaningful Use, HITECH, Health Information Exchange (HIE) and ICD-10 initiatives. Randi’s most recent projects have involved working with providers to guide them to successful achievement of EHR Meaningful Use, through system evaluations, needs assessments, gap analyses, strategic planning and project management.
As a member of NCHICA (North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance), Randi currently serves on the ICD-10 and Privacy/Security Committees, providing information and guidance related to Healthcare Reform to the healthcare community. She also is serving as team member special advisory task forces reviewing proposed NHIN (National Health Information Network) initiatives undertaken by the Office of the National Coordinator.
Prior to joining FluidEdge, Randi worked for CSC as a Senior Project Manager for 5 years assigned to Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI. As a Subject Matter Expert in EHR, Meaningful Use and HIPAA compliance, Randi worked with the health system’s major departments (ICU, OB, Ophthalmology, Pharmacy and Community Physicians) to select and implement appropriate EMR products. Providing project management for each of these initiatives, Randi conducted needs assessment, product research, system design, interoperability planning, vendor management, contract negotiation, budget development, ROI analysis, and project management. She also developed the organization’s HIPAA Security Policies and an eLearning program for Employee HIPAA Compliance Awareness.
Randi began her professional career in Behavioral Health Services where she first conducted psychological testing and patient counseling. During her seven years working for High Point, a corporation that built and operated four inpatient addictions treatment facilities (in RI, MA and FL), Randi advanced to the position of Vice President of MIS and Compliance Officer. After leaving High Point, Randi worked as a Healthcare Consultant to hospitals and outpatient programs providing services related to JCAHO accreditation, Quality Assurance, Utilization Management, automation of medical records and organizational reengineering to address regulatory compliance mandates.
Randi then transitioned into the IT industry, where she served as Vice President of Implementation for six years for Rockburn Systems (a software development firm in Baltimore, MD). As Information Services Director for two years at Lifespan, an integrated healthcare network in RI/MA, Randi was responsible for all IT programs within the Diversified Services Division (Homecare/Hospice/DME). In this role, Randi oversaw the Y2K transition projects for the eleven facilities within the division.
Randi holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical and Organizational Psychology from Rhode Island College. As part of her Master’s program, Randi also completed an Internship in Research and Evaluation.
