
Bernie has over 20 years program/project management experience in the healthcare and financial services industries. Specifically, she has extensive experience in managing large- scale transformational projects in complex Healthcare/IT environments, strategic planning, implementation oversight, corporate performance measurement and reporting. Bernie has a proven track record in supporting the efforts of the client through successful integration and implementation of the strategic plan within business units as well as cross-functional work teams across the corporation, while working closely with strategic initiative program leaders and project managers to ensure the key strategic initiatives are progressing according to the project scope.
Bernie joined FluidEdge in 2008 and has been steadily engaged in managing a number of key strategic projects to successful completion. Her key assignments include Program and/or Project Management of the following:
Prior to joining Fluidedge, Bernie supervised a team of 18 project managers as the Director of the Program Management Office at Independence Blue Cross/Philadelphia. As the director, her largest project was leading a multi-year effort to successfully convert seven legacy systems onto one core processing system/platform. This massive undertaking involved all aspects of healthcare operations.
Bernie continued her career over the next two and a half years in the financial services industry working for software vendor SunGard BRASS (BRASS), in Jersey City, NJ, as the Vice President of Project Management where she established a Program Management Office, implemented project management disciplines and managed the In-House Training Program.
After working at BRASS, Bernie returned to the health insurance industry working for CIGNA Group Insurance in Philadelphia, PA as the Director of the Business Projects Team where she was responsible for working with the Business Executives to create their strategy and develop the annual operating plan for the company. Bernie also hired and mentored the team of Project Managers and Business Analysts who were responsible for defining and implementing these strategic initiatives.
Bernie has a Bachelor of Science degree from Pierce College in Philadelphia, PA and a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
