Summary

Our team worked with a healthcare technology company to improve its operating processes. After performing a gap analysis on the business processes of the company and creating work plans and deliverables for documentation, we facilitated the adoption of the recommended solutions with the company and its key stakeholders.
 

Challenge

  • A merger between two of the nation’s largest medical claims auditing firms resulted in the opportunity to improve operating processes and create efficiencies through the integration of auditing systems, development of new/enhanced functionality, and the implementation of best practices in business process improvement
  • The client needed expertise to analyze business processes, define requirements, and manage delivery of numerous portfolio initiatives
  • Resources were needed to develop, document, and implement repeatable processes to improve business performance between product and delivery

Approach

  • We operated as the product owner and process analyst to define the application features and user stories in conjunction with business architects, solutions architects and other subject matter experts
  • We conducted interviews with internal clients and stakeholders to define business requirements and we performed a gap analysis for business processes and documented the findings
  • We created work plans and deliverables for documentation, training, UAT and cost analysis
  • We collaborated with IT, business requesters and business leaders to resolve changes and build consensus

Results

  • We completed detailed definition throughput to delivery team to support the development of user stories and testing
  • We standardized a number of processes to enable the client to reduce the effort required to stand up its national payer clients by up to 30%
  • We monitored and measured the effectiveness of processes to ensure consistent value delivery
